I think it’s a good idea to have a free video call, before we arrange our first session. I work via Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp video. At this meeting I can answer any questions you might have and we can discuss how we might work together. It is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor/coach, so this meeting gives an opportunity for you to check that I’m the right one for you. Also … and this may seem a bit strange … but if I don’t think my approach is best suited to you, then I’ll say so. I can’t possibly be the best fit for everyone, so I’ll say if I think you’d be better off looking for someone with a different approach. And I’ll signpost you in the right direction, where I can.
Oh, one more thing. Always good to check we don’t know each other in the real world. (Nobody wants to bump into their counsellor/client on their morning dog walk.) Have a good look at my photos, and if I look familiar, then I’m afraid I’m not the one for you!
